Stu visited Brookhaven National Laboratories yesterday during their “Summer Sundays” series. For several weeks every summer the lab opens to the public. Each week a different aspect of the lab’s work is highlighted, with guided tours to the experiments and lectures on related topics offered throughout the day.

A visit to the lab will give you some insight into how your tax dollars are spent and the value that fundamental research has brought to our country and will bring in the future.  Remember that fundamental research does not turn into marketable products and services overnight, so our investment today will yield dividends 10, 20, or even thirty years down the road.
