One sure sign of summer is eating ice cream outside!
Yes, it was a warm sunny Sunday on the first of June, and we headed out in the convertible for an afternoon of relaxation. Not quite summer yet, but who can wait? We visited Sherwood House for some great oysters on the half-shell and a bottle of wine. Great, but the star of this post is delicious, made in the shop Ice Cream!
After lunch, we headed east, and Marian suggested a sweet, cool treat. Just outside Mattituck village, we stopped at the Magic Fountain, right on Rt. 25. Lots and lots of choices, but I went with a pistachio-cherry, and Marian got chocolate brownie. Of course we shared, and it was delish.
We weren’t the only ones to find a fabulous treat in a cup or cone. With a multitude of flavors, there was something for every taste. Even blue ice cream, which left several of us scratching our heads. No, it wasn’t blueberry either.
Eating ice cream is an essential experience, and Magic Fountain produces the real deal. Don’t miss it!
Welcome to the (finally) warm weather and enjoy your trip around town.
