Why not lamb chops and Riesling?
Well, we can tell you there is no good reason. It doesn’t sound like a likely combination, but in Alsace, all kinds of meat dishes pair with Riesling.
On a recent cold evening, Marian pan seared a couple of loin lamb chops with some salt, rosemary, thyme, and a bit of olive oil. Taking a break from reds, and inspired by our recent Baeckeoffe adventure, I uncorked a bottle of 2011 Trimbach Riesling. Delicious and dry, this wine is available everywhere. It captures the essence of Alsatian Riesling at a great price point ($15.00/bottle).
